Why Florida is not in this series

Requires stipulated net income

Florida guideline support (§ 61.30(3)-(5)) is computed on each parent’s monthly net income, defined by statute as gross income minus a specific list of allowed deductions the parent must supply. The engine behind this site requires that net figure directly; it does not convert gross pay to net for Florida, because doing so would mean guessing at each parent real tax and deduction situation rather than using the figure the statute actually defines.

What to use instead

The full Florida child support calculator on this site runs the same real guideline engine and sources as every other state page. It asks for the net-income figures Florida's formula actually requires, rather than trying to derive them from a hypothetical weekly gross paycheck the way this series does for states with a gross-based formula.
